Grill Stock Bristol 2010 – ‘what an extravaganza!’ A must for all who have a passion for bar-b-que and love to eat bar-b-que food at its very best! We on our stand experienced the best spare ribs and chicken wings that we have ever tasted from Bodean’s of London which certainly went a long way to making it a great show for us.
The Bubbly Champagne Company had a good show and met some of our old friends and made many new friends who share our passion for Champagne.

A rare free weekend at home meant I had the chance to roll out the Mac’s ProQ™ Excel 20 and give it the time it deserves with a lovely leg of lamb.
The Excel 20 is very versatile and in addition to being a grill and a smoker, it’s easy to replicate the cooking style of very expensive (and trendy) steam ovens which produce beautifully moist roasts of meat.
Here’s what I did…

Each round was judged by our panel of three experts -
- Ray Lampe – AKA “Dr.BBQ”
- Andy Williams – a Kansas City BBQ Society qualified BBQ judge
- Mike Keller – Grillstock’s own BBQ consultant
At the turn-in time for each round, Grillstock members of staff collected the plated entry from each team, allocated an anonymous code and placed them on the judging table.
Each judge recorded their scores (1-10) based on the King of the Grill rules. It was an incredibly close competition with only one or two points separating teams in most instances.
